The Round Bay community dates back to the 1900s when it was used as a railway extension for travelers visiting the beaches along the Severn River. The former train station stop has now been turned into a residential home. In 1910, Norvell and Annette Chapman formed the Round Bay Beach Company and purchased the area from the Maryland Development and Realty Company. In 1939, the Round Bay Beach Company granted the Round Bay community several waterfront lots, which became “the main beach”. Currently, Round Bay included 230 homes, three piers, and beaches.
